Well, I always loved the non-partisan term they used in the 1940's to describe members of Congress: Congress Critters.

With what everyone has said so far, I agree and add, they are currently a bunch of bundling idiots who need to be voted out of congress one by one. Don't vote for an incumbent, vote for the new candidates in all elections.

I HAVE FOLLOWED NATIONAL POLITICS FOR A LONG TIME. I WOULD DESCRIBE CONGRESS IN SESSION AS A HEAD START CLASS WITH A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER.
