I'm planning on ordering some handbags and such online, and am going to ship it to my home. Will they automatically send it to my home? Or will I have to go to the post office to pick it up? Thanks!(:

If you give a physical address like "10 Martin St" they will send it there. The only things that would go to the post office is if you had a post office box and you gave that as the shipping address, and you'd have to ship it through the US Postal Service.

FedEx, UPS, and such all want an actual address and that's where they will bring it. They're not connected with the post office.

If the postal service tries to deliver something to you that requires a signature, and you are not there, they may leave it with a neighbor, or require you to go to the post office.

If UPS or Fed Ex try to deliver something that requires your signature, and you're not there, they may possibly leave it with a neighbor, or, more likely, leave you a little note. You will have options that might include 1) call them to schedule delivery, 2) pick it up at their office, 3) sign the note and agree for the stuff to be left at your door, etc.

If you are not home during the day, why don't you have it shipped to your work?
