I hope not. That would destroy the economy of Humboldt County CA. Then we would be stuck with a bunch of burned out unemployed pot growers who could never be able to function at a regular job, and the unemployment rate is high enough already. That would also cause more property foreclosures. Those people spend a lot of $$ and the stores and businesses would go bankrupt if the growers stopped spending the big bucks. Besides, what would the cops do? Then they would have to focus on real crimes, or join the unemployment lines with the former growers. Keep it illegal and the prices stay high! Good for business and great for the local economy!! OK...Smoke em if ya got em!!!

Yes it should be. The effects of legalization of marijuana will be that the black market and the associated crime along with its distribution it will be removed. Tax it, and the money will flow in Prohibition for alcohol didn't work and it also doesn't work for marijuana.

We already have people with useless brains after alcohol use
so why in the world would we want to legalize marijuana like
we did alcohol? Do we want a Nation full of mush-brains
that kill people because they don't realize what they're doing
after using some brain-altering drug? Good grief, Charlie
Brown, we don't need any more of this kind of stupid
behavior that affects others. Who wants to live in a nation of
people that can't use their brains to stay away from things
that are detramental to their health and everyone elses
they come in contact with? What would the Nation look like
in another ten years? We are supposed to be an intelligent and educated people, not the scum of the earth.

All drugs should be legalized to reduce the crime involved with drugs. No, I'm not on drugs. other than what the doctor has me taking. If drugs had a rebate to the states and US government like gas has, in no time it would become legal.

I don't smoke pot . But prohibition should have taught this much. the Guv cannot regulate vices and has no business trying. You legalize it then you take the criminal element out of it, just as repealing Prohibition took the gangsters out the alcohol trade. You will also give the police more time to chase after real criminals and also reduce the strain on our already over crowded prison system, saving the taxpayers millions.

Yes! The crime caused by its production and traffic plus the monry being extracted from the economy both from drugs and the legal system far out weight the states right to "protect us". It doesnt work. its unpopular. it needs to change.

Yes for medicinal purposes, I voted for it and it help's people with disease"s, I don't know that it should be legalized for anyother reason, where I live a guy had a license to grow it for the medicinal reasons, but then he got arrested, didn't really understand what happen, he ended up geting off.

No, because it would put a huge tax burden on all of us when municipalities couldnt get all their funding from much else tha traffic tickets---There would be major downsizing of Law Enforcement, and with the loss of prisoners, the State Pens would have to lay off or be a government pork spending project, and those cops remaining would harass everyone with a chip on their shoulder daily.....

As it is, the economy is better by pot being illegal---Unfair? but true.

Yes, because it's a good time. It should at least be decriminalized. It is NOT addictive. Alcohol is way more harmful and IS addictive. Don't even argue about whether or not weed is addictive or not, because anyone with half a brain can tell you it isn't.

I think so. And I dont and have never used marijuana. People who are under the infleunce of marijuana or are under the influence in public should be punished just like someone would with alcohol. But marijuana has as many adverse affects as alcohol does, both short and long term.

So I say, either ban both alcohol and marijuana, or let them both be legal.
