A couple of reasons:

1) Tiki wasn't a fan of his coach, Tom Coughlin

2) Tiki has always had his eye on a TV career, and thought this was his chance.

3) Rhonde doesn't take the punishment that Tiki took, since Tiki was a RB and Rhonde a DB.

Tiki was my favorite player (since days at Univ. Of Virginia) and as much as I didn't want to see him go, it just wasn't fun to him right now. Tiki is not old and was putting up career best numbers but he just couldn't take no more of New York with Tom and Eli. Just because Tiki retired doesn't mean that Ronde have to. Ronde is having fun in Tampa. He has a Superbowl Ring and still have a few more years to play. Plus Tiki played RB which is one of the two most dangerous positions on the field. He didn't want to retire old and broken and at a time where he was forced into retirement. He retired at the top of his game so he can leave us with the thought of "What would have happened if he stayed". I sure would like to know.
