Hearing the debates, it appears that Dr. Paul is the only candidate who wants to follow the US constitution on just about every issue.

Is this true?

Respecting the constitution is wonderful, but we're electing a president, not a constitutional lawyer. The constitution defines the integrity and balance of the three branches of government, but it's not exactly a guide to daily governance.

One of Ron Paul's key issues is regarding immigration. On that topic, Ron Paul believes that birth-right citizenship should be nullified. This is ironic, considering that the fourteenth amendment of the constitution reads as follows:

“…All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside…”

Like all candidates, Ron Paul can only interpret the constitution. Whether or not he is "following" the document is entirely arbitrary. There is a reason why an entire scope of law is devoted to its interpretation, and why 27 amendments have been introduced since it was first written.

Oh yes, Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate, dare I say might be the ONLY American who truly cares about the Constitution. Please.

I'll at least give you Paul supporters credit for the creativity. For the last two days there's been a new influx of questions from you all and each one coyly suggests that they've just discovered this guy and every one of them contains some piece of campaign material for him. Why are you all so convinced spamming for him will garner him votes? It's gotten very annoying.

Yes it is true. From the research that I have done. The people here wont be very kind.

Yesterday I asked if Ron Paul was widly recognized, as I had just heard of him, and had no idea about his policys etc. Unfortunatly many people must have reported it and as such YA deleted the question. I don't blame YA. Although if this becomes more widespread it will border on discrimination and oppression

People don't want the news spread. They want their welfare and free healthcare, paid for by the rest of us.

Why do people think that just because a candidate has a growing number of people excited, that they're all one person spamming the entire internet? Is it so unconscionable that people might just be drawn to an honest man for the office of the presidency? His left field ideas about abolishing the IRS and the CIA won't pass the House and senate if people and their representatives vote it down, but do people ever wonder why the military, active AND retired has given more money to Ron Paul's campaign than ANY other candidate?
I know we're not used to seeing a guy with integrity in office, but let's contain our shock and not think the sky is falling if people are actually excited about supporting a man of consistant integrity. Out of the people running, who else has voted against his own congressional benefits each time? Who else turned down medicare and medicaid payment from his patients because he didn't want to burden the tax payer? Who else is not in any corporate pockets?
Don't be too surprised if the "lone spammer" supporter of Ron Paul turns out to be a hugely growing crowd of people filling the streets in his support. Whether he wins or not, he's raised the standard of who should run for president in this beautiful country of ours.

Well, he seems that way. I admit he sounds good - even though he has never outlined HOW exactly he would accomplish all the things he talks about....and, no doubt about it, he is a funny guy....

However,

A little digging around about him shows him to be unsuitable for the position. His ties to and friendship with radical fundamentalist Pastor Chuck Baldwin and his whacked out flat-earthers make him not presidential material.

Google around and you will see his personal philosophy....his writings with regard to the above named group, copies of his interviews with regard to his personal ideas and ideals...

Nope, not a cup of tea for us, fer sure.

I'd like to go fishing with him though.

no he is not. and there is an odd twist here. he adds a new line to the statement what if a tree fell in the woods and no one heard, does it make a noise. the line is now, what if no one heard and few cared.

Absolutely!!! He always refers back to the Constitution for his answers. It's something most of the people in Government seem to ignore.

yes.He cares about the country and the ppls interest and is honest about his opinions and views, unlike presidents of last 7 years who totally have no idea whatsoever

If you have something to offer us on Ron Paul then why not do so instead of this pathetic pretence to have just found out about him and wanting to know more.

I don't like him 'cause he is against abortion.
So I don't care about anything else he says.
I can't be on the same side of somebody who is against abortion... I always get shocked when I meet one of them!!
