This is a perfect opportunity for a vintage dress-- ask a relative, try a thrift store, or even Ebay. For the "ratpack" era, you want a mini-dress, go-go boots, a bubble hairdo, frosted lipstick and black eye-liner.
Or, you can reach back a little further, and do yourself as Audrey Hepburn playing Holly Golightly. Get a chic cocktail dress, long gloves, lots of rhinestones and spike heel shoes. Do your hair in a sleek beehive if you can. Wear a bracelet over your gloves. A long cigarette holder is a nice touch.
