Knowing that there are so many fatalities.... and even if you don't die, you will likely lose some of your toes....or have permanent organ damage from altitude sickness..... Why would someone want to do it?

If you live in the U.S. I would advise you to move to somewhere near the cascade range (such as Washington). Start climbing mountains with snow; that's whats going to give you the most experience. Try to get a job guiding in the mountains. If you get the chance to go on an expedition to a higher peak, go for it. Once you are involved in the mountaineering community, you will probably get the chance to go to the Himalayas, and then Everest is really close. Note that you'll have to make either lots of experienced friends, or lots of money.

Even if they come up with a valid reason, it's time to start thinking of the mountain. It's covered in trash and is polluted by so many 'deposits' being made. Give it a rest.

Pointless transportation, expensive, dangerous to self and rescuers. A vanity waste of time. Should be banned, unless large amounts of money are deposited to cover the true expenses of these selfish idiots.

It would be quite the adventure, I have climbed many of the high peaks up here in Alaska.

Some people just want to do things so they can say they did it. It doesn't always make a lot of sense. Maybe it's not supposed to. I don't know. LOL.
