i need to know what is a very good heat source to research on! any good suggestions?

The best furnace is the sun.

Since you're not going to be able to use that...short of using a very expensive system...

But, if you're interested in doing research, Passive Solar is a good system to do a paper on.

Many in the trade are convinced that hydronic (hot water boiler with piping to and from fin tube baseboard room registers OR hot water boiler that circulates hot water in tubing that is located atop, in or under the floor) heating systems are best. Boilers on the market now are very efficient.

The only problem with boiler fed systems is that they do not require ductwork. But A/C systems do require ductwork, so if you want heating AND cooling, a forced-air system is usually required. Sometimes a hybrid system (combining both systems to a degree) works well.

Heating companies are sort of like NASA - if you want it to fly, provide us with unlimited funds and we'll get er done for you.

hot water heat is even. how you heat it is debatable.
