Both nothing and something are nothing but terms;man made creations. There is no such thing as the concept of nothing. To say that there is nothing is ridiculous. We know that there is something instead of nothing because "we" see it. The "we" is the answer because wether "we" are spiritual entities or tangible beings "we" are "something". To answer the question why is there something instead of nothing is impossible. It is impossible because we would have to brake through the man made creation tha we are using to both ask and answer the question.

because somewhere, sometime, something got started, and ended the nothingness, if there was ever any nothing,,,,,,, maybe there has always been something, as you cant make something out of nothing, or can you? why did we even create the word nothing? do we need a word to describe something that isnt? i dont know, lol, and i dont think i really even care why, i am just glad there is

The true meaning of life is to learn how to make something out of nothing.

If there is only nature, then your question is meaningless because we can't ask "why" questions of physics/nature.
Therefore, your very question presupposes God. Once we presuppose God, then we ought to see that seeking God is far more important than seeking the answer to your question.

Why do we say "nothing" and not "yesthing"
If there is an object, whatever it is, we can call it something,
but if we are looking at nothing we call it nothing, but why if there is something or nothing we still refer to either as "it"
What is "It"?
besides isn't nothing something too?

There always has to be a constant; a constant is a continuation; all things are constant; all things continue; even when nothing is inevitable.
