If you're not a chrisitan please don't answer. Yes some republicans believe in abortion, gay marriage etc. The majority of democrats support abortion, gay marriage and other terrible things. People say that democrats want to help the poor, but republicans help them too. I believe the fundamental view point of democrats is to give a man a fish. Republicans want to teach the man to fish. Besides that both parties believe they are helping all people poor or rich with whatever economic plan they have. To say one economic plan is better than another is all perspective. If you are a christian abortion, gay marriage and christian religious freedom are not a grey area it is black and white. If any liberal left winged christians don't understand what I'm talking about feel free to email me.

There are a lot of Christian Democrats, or Democrats that are Christian. But, religion has nothing to do with politics, and we should stay away from joining the two; its like apples and oranges. Vote for a man based on his integrity - I agree with the wisdom of some of the men on Yahoo. Talk to you later.

Am so tired of those of who call themselves Christians who believe they must vote for those family value Republicans. That voting for Democrat makes one a non Christian. The use of wedge issues like abortion, gay marriage, gay rights, gun control or other social issues during elections. The real issues are the war, the economy and what direction this country takes after nearly eight years of failed leadership. Keep ones nose out bedroom.

To those who say that politics and religion are and should be completely separate: How do you claim to know God and yet ignore the fact that this country was created by believers, with Christian principles as the foundation?

However, we have seen this year in particular that just because a candidate is in one party or the other doesn't necessarily mean that they are on one side of the fence or the other when it comes to abortion and other issues. So a Christian shouldn't have parties in mind when they vote, but beliefs and convictions.

First of all your teach a man to fish analogy is nonsense. Republicans are trying thier best not to teach our poor anything. Republicans have consistently underfunded public education and now want to remove funding from it further through subsidizing private education with vouchers. It was Republicans that refused to fund thier own NCLB program. It was Dems who brought new legislation to the table to make it easier for the poor to attend college. Republicans have seen poverty grow and median wages fall while they held the White House and congress. Pulling the chair out from under someone does not qualify as helping him stand on his own feet. Practice the politics of greed all you like but cut this offensive nonsense about caring for the underpriveliged.
Now as a Christian I can say that I have the right to practice as I please. (Do not pretend that our predominantly Christian state is anti Christian. That just puts you behind the barricade with the other deluded seige mentalists like O'Reilly - surely you want to aim higher than that). I live my life as I please and respect the right of others to do the same. I do not like abortion but I am not so stupid as to believe it will go away if we outlaw it. I want it to be safe, available and rare. I am not gay but do not believe that "God hates fags" as some "Christians" would have us believe. The rules in Leviticus were written and rewritten by people not God. When these "Christians" apply the same level of hatred to shellfish eaters as they do to homosexuals I will still feel they are wrong but at least be able to respect thier integrity if not thier intelligence.
I live my life as I please and I respect that for right for others - Republicans it seems do not.
The rules I take from the bible are the ones Jesus gave us. To love one another and judge not. Hence I will never vote for those hate filled and judgemental Republicans.

Because this is The Land of The Free and the Home of the Brave.

The question is why do Republicans always have 'wedge issues' as part of their platform?

Making abortions illegal will not stop them.

Abolishing our right to own firearms will not stop gun violence.

I support our right to own fire arms.

I defend a woman's right to choose.
If she chooses abortion, then she will answer to God and his decision will be final. She will be allowed to enter his glorious kingdom as it is written.

Oh, I don't know, because most Democrats ARE Christians? Being a Christian does not qualify you to judge other Christians, in fact it doesn't qualify you to judge anyone. That's the Big Guy's job, not yours. If more conservative right wing Christians could grasp that concept they, and we, would be much happier overall.

I don't believe they can, especially when voting for a pro-abortion candidate. But then what if a Republican candidate is pro-abortion (i.e. pro-death)? I suppose when one has a choice to vote for one of two pro-abortion candidates the Republican would be the lesser of two evils because they would be more likely to vote along party lines if necessary.

Simply: Thou shalt not kill.

And look what our "christian" president has done...

That's enough to make me stay away from Republicans forever!

Why do so-called Christians support taxcuts for the wealthiest Americans but no help for the poor?

I'm a Christian and for abortion because it's not murder, and gay marriage because God gave free will and made all equal..

There it is justified.
