Who ever did it was not going after his wife and child. If you gather all the facts of the story, this was a planned attack on Taylor. A week earlier his house had been broken into, his stuff rummaged through and a knife left on his bed. This time someone cuts his phone line, gets in the house without tricking the alarm, and goes after only Taylor. If whoever did this wanted to harm his wife or child, he would have. I'm not saying that this isn't a tragic event, but I also don't believe this was simply a burglary gone wrong.

What a waste..what a senseless loss. The guy seemed to be maturing and was having such a great season and now this. If he was playing in the Tampa game then I think his girlfriend and child would have been with him or at least staying in Tampa. Who knows.
Rest in peace Sean...you are always a Redskin.

AWSOMEP is right im pretty sure his family would have went to the game...
it was a HIT anyway someone wanted taylor dead so they killed him they knew he was injured and would be home they cut the phone lines broke in kicked in his bedroom door and shot him in the upper leg while he was defensless with nothing but a machette locked in his bedroom wit his family(not positive about this part they may have been elsewhere in the house)
EDIT: (note thAT this is speculation) with wat crazycar said the intrufer earlier was looking for a point of entry into the home without tripping a alarm or he may have even made the alarm haywire so it wouldnt work

Sean Taylor was the highest safety ever drafted that should tell everyone how special he was as a player. I wish he and his family would have went to TB I hope that intruder gets whats coming to him that was just stupid and wrong.

Bad things can happen to good people. I know its tragic, but its a good thing his family was ok.
I just hope the police will catch as soon as possible the scumbag who murdered this fine young man.
RIP Sean Taylor.

I think this is so sad because according to his teammates he finally was learning from all his mistakes and getting his life on the right track. He seemed like a good person on and off the field. Thanks for all the memories Sean.

could the shooter have been someone who he had trouble with in his past. some of the off field probless he has had in the past. It is a shame that this is happened but also if he put his family in danger also because of his past actions

It is a true tragedy, because he was really turning around his life. Unfourtunatly, it sounds like this thing could be connected to his past when he wasn't exactly a model citizen.
