Yes, black magic (including witchcraft) is true. There were so many proofs. ;-) But not as exaggerated as you can see on movies. ;-)

No. When a person contacts a "mysterious disease", some people immediately conclude it's kulam, because they have not seen it before (because its uncommon) or cannot associate it with a sickness that they know of. Example: when a child has red dots and fever, most people would not be afraid and conclude that its probably measles or something, but if a child grows hair all over it's face and body they would assume that the child is 'nakulam' because they have no idea of the disease called 'hypertrichosis'. The fact is many illnesses and conditions afflict humans and only a small percentage are accurately diagnosed, this is the reason why many people conclude that it is of supernatural causes. People who claim they knew of someone who levitates or vomits ten kilos of bugs are definitely exagerrating, a result of grapevine sociology and plain imagination.

No... and I can not quite comprehend why so many educated adults in the Philippines believe in all this.
Usually they have this story about how their uncle's ex-wife's brother's girlfriend's grandmother has had an experience of being subject to kulam... pathetic.
How can someone believe in witchcraft and at the same time consider believing in Santa Claus, UFOs and chinese lucky charms as blasphemous.

I heard of stories about it but haven't encountered it in real life since if somebody claimed he/she has been "Kulam", the doctors always have medical explanation about it. I don't believe its true.

Yes, they're all true and they exist even in modern times. It's a craft passed on from one generation to the next and something learned from constant practice or experience.

No. I find it surprising people still believe in that stuff considering we are now in "modern" times.
