I live in Minnesota, I dont think outsiders (people from outside of the midwest) think we are hillbillies.

Instead, I think they assume us to be old-fashioned. There is a difference.

I got stuck in Atlanta airport in September and got posted up in a hotel with a bunch of other people from Minnesota. So me and this married chick (whole nother story - nothing happened) went to the bar and met some people from LA. These guys from L.A. and us go tanked and went bar hopping. Strangely, one of the guys who traveled alot said - this happens anytime his flights get cancelled. He runs into someone from Minnesota and all they want to do is get tanked. He asked if we do anything but drink in MN?

LOL

I have never heard of anyone stereotyping Minnesota as a land of hillbillies, and I've been around. There are "hillbillies" and "red necks" in every state.

No, lumberjacks and Norwegian bachelor farmers.

Hillbilly land? Only for the geographically challenged.
