When one works at a grocery store (or any other union-store), one doesn't have the choice of whether to join the union. One either joins the union within the set period of time that one has or one has to be let go by the company.

This is one of the requirements set forth within the contract (commonly called a Memorandum of Understanding) between the union and the store.

The union takes an initiation fee (usually a few hundred dollars and this is spread out on various paychecks) and then a set amount per-paycheck.

UFCW can be contacted through:

I have no idea what hometown you are in, but you may be able to find the information on the UFCW website.

Hope this helps...

Well my good thing is sometimes my worst quality, and my bad thing is sometimes my good quality... Good - Like you I'm overly honest, but many times to a fault. For some reason I never think of "cushioning" some of my truths. Of course this one is good too because I'm a very trustworthy person which is something that everyone enjoys having around. Bad - Very competitive, when I get into something, I get into it BIG TIME, while I don't resort to cheating or anything, I can be very hyperactive and obnoxious occasionally during it. On a positive for this one though, I am never willing to give up no matter how bleek the situation may seem because of this strong competitive spirit.

Depending on where you live, he might have had to join the union in order to work at Krogers. Yes they'll take union dues out of his pay.

Hard to say if they are good or bad.
