The city is the center of a circle and the distance the broadcasts can be heard is the radius of the circle.

If the cities are 200 miles apart, then KMAT's broadcast can be heard all the way down Hwy 7 until you are 50 miles outside of Geometry City.

KGEO's broadcasts can be heard 125 going towards Math City.

If I add the two broadcast distances together, I get 275. I only have room for 200 miles so there must be a 75 mile overlap.

Does that help??

simply, draw a circle w/ radius of 150 miles around kmat - the distance it can be heard. Do the same for kgeo, only 125 miles. There fore, the line in which they overlap is the difference or the distance on the road: 25 miles!

Dear Qpac10 Isn't it about time you began doing your own work? , If you had started when you were given the problem , you wouldn't be facing detention. There are too many of us who have been fortunate enough to profit by living in this country, who did it studying, graduating applying our selves to our jobs and learning what is required to survive and prosper. It wasn't " Help Me !!! I Dont Want To Get Detention"
