I'm studying to become a nurse mainly because I enjoy it. I enjoy studying about how the body works no matter how hard it is. I also enjoy the high expectations. I also like the fact that'll be one of the people who could truly say something like "We saved someone from dying." And of course we cannot deny the fact that hospitals pay well and nurses have a good job security status. Especially now that a lot of people from the baby boom era are retiring.

Then again, those are MY reasons. You need to have your own. I don't know about your university/college but our's require a high level of dedication since we need to have a 3.9GPA in order to get into the program alone. Good luck.

It takes a truly special person to become a nurse. If you're questioning this now, I'm not sure you would have what it takes (not to sound harsh) The reason most people get into nursing is that they have a real desire to help people and have a very special ability to be extremely generous with their spirit.

Those special individuals who go into nursing truly care for others. They are strong and dedicated...I wish I could do such work, but I am not sure I could.

If you don't know why you want to be a nurse, then maybe you are getting into the wrong field. Sounds like you don't need advice on writing your essay. Sounds like you need career advice.

To help people through tough times. You can get to know your patients more than a doctor can. They also make decent money if they work in the right place (hospital, ER).
