Hi Chavo-

I recently moved here from San Diego. I had a three bedroom house and a 2 car garage full of stuff. I shopped around and the coolest, easiest and cheapest method of shipping I found was the PODS company. That's PERSONAL ON DEMAND STORAGE.

Here is how it works.
1.) You call 1-866-229-4120 and tell them where you want your container dropped off at. They drop it there and you load it. You can take your time loading. I took a week to load mine.

2.) You call them back and tell them to pick it up and send it to Phoenix. They do that and put it in a holding area there. After you lock in your new address, you let them know and they deliver the stuff to you. Pretty simple.

The benefit of doing this is that you do not have to drive a lunky truck across the country, fight the weather, tow you car, put gas in a truck, run the risk of your over-used truck breaking down and having to spend your time stranded somewhere.

The cost was within $100 of the cheapest moving companies I could find. I easily saved the $100 in gas alone. Well worth it all the way around. It was the least stressful move I ever made.

Good luck to you and hopefully you will take my advice.
Tom

I had a friend just go through the moving truck thing, he actually called all three moving companies (Ryder, Uhaul, Penskie) and got quotes from all three, even placed an order with Penske, Then you call each one and let them know you need to cancel because you found a better deal with their competitor, He knocked over $100 off the price of his truck with about an hours work calling back and forth!

Everyone says U Haul has the cheapest but thats not true. Go to penske.com and look for your self. For a 10' truck its 863.00. Budget.com is the next cheapest at 963.10.

You can get a quote online from UHaul and probably others. When I moved across country two years ago, UHaul was the cheapest among the three companies I looked at.
