Your Mint state coin is worth about $1.75. I am not sure what you mean by it's container from 1943, are you referring to a slab? if so your coin has been graded by a company. Your coin's value may increase in the future. I have always been fond of 1943 steel cents, especially ones with a high grade. I hope this helps answer your question.

I am guessing it is in some kind of holder. It had better be hard plastic for cardboard may harm the coin. In Mint State- 65 it has a value of about $3. There are some that grade higher but they are not that common. The value given is what a dealer would pay. A dealer or someone needs to grade it, for if it grades higher it is worth more. Try more than one dealer, it is always better to go for the second opinion. Back in 1943 they didn't make perfect coins, like they do today. Hope this helps for I can do no more without seeing it.

1 cent. While it is prestine and uncirculated it's currency value is still a penny. A collector might buy it for more but its probably only worth what someone would pay. I don't think there is a book value on it since it is still considered a penny. You might take it to a coin shop to double check though.
