I have a few questions for anyone that has been there or lives there...

1. What's a nice area with bars that we can be comfortable hanging out at late at night??

2. Where can we go to a nice dinner to celebrate our anniversary?

3. Where can we get a slice of Boston's best pizza??

4. Are there any "bad areas" that we should know of?

THANKS!! :)

There are lots of great bars all over the city, but I would say stick to the Fanueil Hall area, there are lots of bars there so you can pick and choose, and all are fun. Bars in Boston all close at 2 AM though. . . .Tons of fine dining around the city. Depends what sort of cuisine you are looking for. I love Davios, Eastern Standard, The Wine Cellar and Grille 23. I believe most of their menus are online, so you can get an idea, but they have a nice romantic feel, so you can have a delicious meal, and be relaxed for a special evening as well. . . .The best pizza without a doubt is in the North End at Pizzeria Regina. I know its' a big debate around the city, but I LOVE it. Plus it's fun to walk around the North End. Get a pizza, maybe a beer or something, and then go to some of the little bakeries, coffee shops or have a glass of wine, just a nice walk. . . . .Directly downtown Boston there aren't any "bad" areas, worse than any large city (i.e.: just use some common sense) but outside the city like parts of Dorchester, Mattpan, etc you would want to avoid. Although for what you seem to be looking for, you'll mostly be right downtown. Enjoy your trip!!!

1. Many places around Faneuil Hall or on Boyleston Ave/Newbury St around the Prudential Center/Back Bay area

2. Many many choices. Best places in town you will need reservations for - Radius, #9 Park, Clio. I'm fond of Davio's Italian Steak House (http://www.davios.com/). There are also many many fine restaurants in the north end (Italian) that are first come first serve, recommend Giacomo's on Hanover St. The north end is an experience in and of itself - just be prepared to pay cash and wait outside regardless of weather for your table. check www.chowhound.com (Boston board).

3. Santarpio's (near Logan Airport) and Pizzaria Regina (north end, off Washington St) are probably the best. Of course that is a matter of opinion.

4. Don't go to Dorchester or Rocksbury and you will be okay.
