I do believe most of the country wants action on illegals, But i also think most all politicians are staying away from the issue as much as possible.
You name a guy who will stand up and say he'll order enforcement and you will be naming the next president.

Most Republicans are not really against amnesty, unless you only look at what they talk about recently. If you look into their past, you will only find 3 that are consistently against it. Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, and Ron Paul, the latter being ahead of many in polls, money and bi-partisan support. All the Democratic candidates are for some form of Amnesty, which really should tell you something. Many of the most well known, are also pro-war. Those two facets of some of the issues this time around, are two of the biggest problems right now.

Depends, I guess. I am a Democrat, and I am specifically interested in candidates who will *not* endorse the North American Union (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Union), who will deport illegal aliens, build the fence and fine employers who knowingly entice illegals for cheap labor.
-----------
Edit: Fred Thompson is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations -- along with other current candidates. The CFR endorses the North American Union.

Well, Laura, I wouldn't put too much faith in hot button issues this time around. People are waking up to the hypocrisy of the republican party and I think not enough people will vote on just one issue to give you either a Reagan or Bush-lite victory.
Best hope: the supremes can get a shot again.

Immigration is not the only issue to base or judge a candidate.
They are more important issues than Immigration like Economy, housing crisis, employment healthcare, jobs, values,

ABFM,
How about a solution, combining the majority of the illegals issue ( There WILL NEVER be a solution whereby ALL illegal aliens are deported), AND solving our own political problem's.
DEPORT THE ILLEGALS AND ALL - (that's right ALL) ALL OF OUR POLITICIANS, TOGETHER !!!!!!!
IF THEY ARE IN OFFICE, """" VOTE THE SORRY BASTAR*S OUT """""!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
