In 1980 I turned 14. what I remember the most of the 80's was high school. House parties (jams). I grew up in NYC. clubbing and dancing to freestyle, house. I loved Madonna so of course I remember lace and vogueing. The 80's were the best. I don't think there was a greater era or generation.

Some of the music of the late 80's springs to mind....I was born in 1977....and I don't think I really became aware of the modern music scene as it was then until about '86 or '87....but I do remember quite a lot of it. Fond memories.

The simplicity of childhood. And the killer awesome weather and the palm trees of sunny So Cal (since I moved to Oregon in '92)!!! Aahh, the music and the trips to Chuck E. Cheese were the best!!!

Clubbing, college,rat-tails, mullets, apocalyptic clothing (think Billy Idol videos), my black nylon parachute pants, sexual freedom before the AIDS epidemic, and vintage Prince! I was 21 in 1985.

Wearing babydoll socks with dress shoes. Ratting hair and spraying it with Aquanet. Loud makeup. Jelly bracelettes and glitter bracelettes. Bangle earings and bracelettes. Bright colors like neon green, pink, yellow, and orange. The music. Jean jackets. Boom boxes. My friends :)

edit: the 80's was also when it was still ok and actually "cool" to like Michael Jackson.....that was before we knew of his.....um......problems?
