Ok so my little sister came home today with a test, and this question:
List all factors of 35. (she put the following which were marked wrong.) 7, 35, 1. Could anyone tell me whether this was a mistake on the part of the teacher? or if there is something I'm missing.

She put in 5 and got it right, she put in the ones listed as well, and they were marked wrong. The question was worth 4 points.

Ok I guess I did not make myself clear. She put in the numbers 1, 5, 7, and 35. The teacher marked 5 as the only correct answer in the group.

Obviously you were confused about the question and answer since you had to restate the response. If that was THE question...list ALL the factors of 35... and she wrote 1,5,7,35 then her answer was correct. Perhaps the 5 was not written clearly and that is why the teacher circled it. Sometimes students don't write their numbers clearly and the teacher marks an answer wrong. Have her ask her teacher why it was marked wrong. It will help her now and for tests in the future.

It could be that the teacher had asked her to list all p r i m e factores of 35.
These are prime numbers (prime numbers are numbers that can only be divided by themselves and the number 1) that divide into the number being factored.
So 5 would definitely be a prime factor of the number, and the others would be 7, 1, and 35.
So maybe she should just ask her teacher since I'm saying what all of the other people has said!

she forgot 5. but idk was it only 1 pt?
if so then it is wrong, but if it was worth more than that then she should get some points.
