next to the judge is the court clerk, the stenographer (types everything said for the record) is in the middle between the judge, and the people waiting to see the judge. a sheriff is the bailiff in the court, usually close to the people in the court waiting to see the judge.

Could be the Bailiff, could be the court reporter, could be the clerk of the court... depends how your courtroom is laid out.
