38.5% = .385 (decimal)

= 38.5/100 (but that's not the best form, so let's work on it)
= 77/200 (that's a good fraction)

I had to think about this too I always forget.... haha
To change something from a percent to a decimal, move the decimal point 2 places to the left- so as a decimal, 38.5% would be 0.385
To change it to a fraction, put the percent over 100 (because percentages are always out of 100) so it would be 38.5/100

OR it can be expressed as 77/200 because 38.5 as a fraction is 77/2, so you can multiply the 2 by one hundred and the 77 stays on top.... but that is another kind of math......)

(Also, graphing calculators can come in handy for changing decimals to a fraction, because you can type a decimal in your calculator then hit the "Math" button, select "Fraction" from the menu, then hit enter twice and it will give you the fraction.)

I hope this helps!!

Since fractions are out of 100 all you do is put 100 under the number so it would be 38.5/100. Or you can reduce it to 19.25/50, or 9.62/25.

For the decimal part for any decimal all you have to is move the decimal over two places to the LEFT {if you move it to the right you will end up with the wrong answer} So If you move the decimal over two places to the left in 38.5 you get .385 . If this is to hard you can also divide the number by 100. then you will get .385 agian. I hope this refreshes your mind :-)

To express it in decimal form, divide the percentage by 100.
In this case, it becomes 0.385.

To express it as a fraction, you can start out with 38.5/100. Since it is improper to have a decimal as part of a fraction, you can multiply the numerator and denominator by 10. You get 385/1000. To simplify, you can divide the numerator and denominator by 5. You get 77/200.

Decimal: 0.385 - move the decimal point to the left two spaces

Fraction: 38.5/100 - a percent is out of 100 so you only need to put the percentage number over 100

To change 38.5% to decimal, you just move the decimal 2 places to the left ==> 0.385

To change it to fraction:
Percentage is over a hundred, so it's 385/100 then you can reduce it if you want.

Because a percent is out of 100, you move the decimal place over two times to .385 so the ratio would be .385:1
Though when you want to make it a fraction, because the precent has the .5 you should put 385 over 1000 then simplify to 77 over 200

To make it a decimal you move the dot two places to the left and remove the % sign so it'd be .385
To make it into a fraction you just put a 100 under it so it would be 38.5/100
