Dispassionate people sound sinister and fake. I have never met the one who I could not make skip a breathe.
Apathy is genuine.
It sounds like a waterfall, drowning out the sound of your own heart beat.
Believe me, no one is good at faking it.
Apathetic tones sound like a prelude to the laugh, when the person tells me something I fill in the joke.
