i hope they don't becuase i would rather wait til he is 110% not play him so you can have a big chance to win b/c you know the vikes are most likely wont get past 2nd round or 1st round this season and thats max(9-7 wild card they beat out Detroit i think b/c of thier easy schedule)

Earlier reports stated that Peterson could have played last week but they decided to not let him so they could make sure he'd be ready for this week.

Signs point to yes...he should play this weekend.

(Yeah, I agree, they shouldn't let him play yet...he's a rookie and hurt...and it's not like the Vikings have a whole lot going for them even if they do make the playoffs...)

Only if he is 100% healthy. Why should the Vikings risk their future with Peterson when they are not going anywhere? Face it the Vikes will finish 7-9, maybe 8-8 at best. There'll be no playoffs for them this year. That being said I think we'll see Peterson and Taylor share carries this weekend and then much more Peterson next week.

I do agree he is the future of their franchise, but he will play, theyve played him conservatively enough holding him out of last week... if the vikes want a chance at the playoffs they gotta get him back in becasue he is 80% percent of their offence and their D is about 19% of it.

THe rest of the schedule for the Vikings are all poor run defenses...so if Peterson is back in and doing well he should run all over them, but if hes not in the VIkes dont have a very good chance

About the playoffs, you make it sound like its jsut the Lions that they have to beat out but there is about 7 or 8 teams fighting for 2 spots and many of them have a very good chance. THe vikes will have to paly very good ball to have a chance at the playoffs

Adrian Peterson is expected to play Sunday. And I dont know about the vikes chance to make the playoffs. They would pretty much have to run the table

I'm not really sure, but if I was the coach I wouldn't let him play. The Vikings season is pretty much done (I'm betting) and there is no need for Peterson to go out there at 85-90% and possibly risking further damage.

I think they should put him in just as a distraction and to get him more experience.
on a side note... he has the most yards rushing in the NFL that is amazing he even missed 2 games maybe he wants to go for the record.
im a packer fan but i really like Adrian Peterson i give him mad props.
he went #9 in the draft i bet 8 other teams regret not picking him up.

I pretty sure he will considering they right there with the Lions in the NFC NORTH again and in need of a win. Not to mention that detroit had lost three straight now.

He may, but I agree with that kind of injury and the season they are having, they should keep him out. The last thing they need is to have him blow out his knee as badly as Dante Culpepper did. He is their future.

He should play, but he might not get significant amount of handoffs because he's coming off of an injury.
