Haha CJ, I wondered the same thing about the word "grossest" I could say, "What is the most gross food..."
I searched my pea brain and someone smarter than I must answer, I'm also too lazy to look it up. I also wrote "pea" and thought of the exorcist again.

Parsnips, pease pudding....double yuck....might be a Brit thing, think it was yellow peas of some description because that was the colour of it on the plate, it was horrible and something served up at primary school in the early 60's. I was made to sit for the duration of lunchtime with this plate of mush because we weren't allowed to leave the table until our plates were empty. Eventually I ate it but was promptly sick all over the dinner lady's shoes lol. They never made me eat it again!!!

Hi Wickwire, Your questions keep me coming back. I am vegetarian at home, but I wasn't raised that way. I think the Spanish soup, menudo, is the grossest food to me. I can't imagine eating organ meats. Tinman12, I think meat is much more expensive than fruit, veggies and grains. Actually, the food somebody else prepared and the food packaged for convenience and speed is the most expensive.

Hello again Wick :)

Actually, I find Rocky Mountain Oysters totally DETESTABLE!!

They're disgusting looking, disgusting tasting and just the thought of them being testicles from an animal is beyond gross. LOL

Although I'm mentioning that, I can't help but mention how disgusting it is that there's some specialty resturaunts in China that specialize in serving strictly animal penis and testicle parts. They serve just about any animal you can think of.

In fact, if you go to www.YouTube.com and type in "Cooking in the Danger Zone", it's a documentary show in England and this guy goes all over the world to the strangest, deadliest and nastiest places they serve food and he tries it.

There's one show in particular where they show the resturaunt he goes to in China that serves the animal parts. .

That's pretty much GROSS to me! LOL

There's also one where he travels to Chernobyl where radiation levels are in the food and water and he ignores the producer's warnings about NOT eating the food or drinking there and he does eat and drink and is exposed to radiation. That's not gross, although I'm sure the effects of radiation are, but it was still pretty shocking.

I would say all meats in general. I wish I could go vegetarian but its expensive and really I don't have the discipline for it. But I do like eating cold cuts. You don't really see flesh in its true nature. I can tolerate hamburgers and hot dogs and I don't want to know what is in hot dogs. LOL.
Grossest is a valid word for those that are wondering.

I like almost everything, so I'm interested in trying new things. But, one time I cooked tripe (using Julia Child's recipe). The process involved a long, slow cooking, and the kitchen smelled wonderful. I did everything exactly as Julia instructed (I taped the episode, and I have the cookbook), but, it was like chewing erasers. After all of that work, and the aroma, I couldn't eat it. However, others liked it.

Peas, my parents thought they could make me eat it one night. And made me sit at the table till I did. I waited till they went to bed, then flushed them down the toilet. I have not eatedn a pea since then.
Also raw oysters, can't handle oyster shooters, But I do love fried oysters, one of my favorites in fact.
