Either way, I would definitely go to the hospital and get checked. If your water did break this early, you would need antibiotics to prevent infection and steroids to help the baby's lungs mature. If your water did break, you would probably still be leaking here and there. You need to be checked as soon as possible either way. Go now! Good luck.

You should let your doctor know. They can test the fluid (no matter how little there is present) to see if it is in fact amniotic fluid. It is probably just urine -- which may smell like ammonia but not always. But there is also a chance it could be amniotic fluid. The best way to find out for sure is to have the doctor test it. When I was pregnant with my son I had light leakage -- even less than you are saying you had -- and it turned out I was leaking amniotic fluid. I was a first time mom back then (three kids now) and had no clue. I had the cliche' of a big gush of water in my head. In hindsight I wish I had mentioned it to the doctor. Luckilly I had an ultrasound scheduled and they found out I had dangerously low amniotic fluid. I had to go in immediately for an emergency c-section as he was also frank breech. Had I not been in that day for the ultrasound the doctor said he would not have made it. More than likely you have nothing to worry about but it is better to be safe than sorry. Doctors can't even tell you for sure what the fluid is without a test so you have no way of telling by yourself. Good luck to you sweetie. I am sure everything will be fine.

Oh my goodness! The same thing happened to me. I asked my doctor and she seemed unconcerned. I was freaking out! Well, my next visit I demanded to find out. They did a strip test where the paper [which is inserted in you, near your bag of water] and the paper will turn a certain color if your membranes did rupture and you will know. The test determined my water did not break. I was fine and the baby. I now have a healthy 6wk. old. Don't take a bath until you get doctor's okay.Indeed, you need to call your doc, ASAP

Urine has a distinct smell, so if it doesn't smell like urine, get to Labor and Delivery immediately. If you have some of the fluid still, amniotic fluid does dry in long, translucent white crystalline threads (like if it's in a glass).

Good luck to you.

After your water breaks, you are constantly leaking a lot of fluid, you would know. Your body produces amniotic fluid until the baby is born, that is why you would leak.

I would go to the ER or DR. They can test this with a strip of paper that turns black if your water did break. Also, the baby has to be delivered within 24hoursif it did ir you could get an infection.

It could be amiotic fluid leaking and you do need to go to the ER as soon as possible. Hopefully they can control it and your baby is fine. Good luck.
