Sandyboy- Hi, my name's Cody, and I'm working with the Vista Outreach Team to answer any questions or concerns people have about Windows Vista. I noticed that a lot of other folks already responded to you, but I wanted to get my two cents in there too. Zee had some great stuff to say, particularly regarding the fact that Vista has some differences from XP and that it is full of new features. Windows Vista has way tighter security features than XP, and is much less vulnerable to stuff like spyware. Regarding what Sathish said about compatibility issues, 98 of the 100 top software applications can be run on Vista, and they keep adding more each day. Vista also supports something like 77,000 printers, cameras, speakers, and other external devices, too. I know your question was pretty general, so if you have any specific questions about differences between Vista and XP, or just any questions in general, please let me know and I'll do my best to answer them! Thanks, Cody Windows Vista Outreach Team

The real question is which one are you happy with. You could always load XP on the new one if you are not happy with Vista. Do keep in mind, however, that XP will not be supported that much longer (maybe another year or so) and that Vista SP1 is due out early next year which may solve some of the problems (actually it will solve many of them as I have already loaded most of the fixes that will be in SP1 and it makes a difference).

From my experience anyway, Vista is just a shinier XP with some problems. If you don't care that much about the eye candy, ditch Vista. XP uses way fewer system resources, has fewer compatibility issues, and you are probably more familiar with it.

Buy another hard drive ( go to newegg.com-It's cheap) reload Win XP and save the Hard drive with Win Vista until it supports more Drivers and software.
