A product is the result of multiplying two numbers such as 6 and 2. So the product of 6 and 2 is 6 x 2 = 12. Twelve is the product (it got manufactured out of a 6 and a 2!).
A quotient is the result of dividing the first number by the second for two number such as 6 and 2. So the quotient of 6 and 6 is 6 divided by 2 = 3. Three is the quotient.

Quotient is similar, but it means to divide.

Aside from the answers given already... Product is repeated addition such that 3 x 2 means we add three two times. Quotient is repeated subtraction such that 12 / 3 = 4 means the number of times we subtract three from twelve is four times.
