For the last 2mths my 8mth has been teething he has 6 & his eye teeth which are said to be the most painful have been trying to come through. The eye teeth are very white & are only a few mil from breaking through. Could this be the cause of night wakings? The night before last he went to bed at 8 woke at 11:30 for a feed ( I breast feed) and slept right through to 7:15, but last night he went to bed at 8:30 slept til 11:15 had a feed and everytime I put him in his cot he would start to cry 3 times he stayed asleep on his side but woke after 20 min probably due to rolling back onto his back. Woke at 2:30 I rolled him over onto his side patted his bottom & he fell straight to sleep. He woke at 4am I did the same again but he was very restless even cuddleing him did not work & thought maybe his teeth were hurting so I gave him some nurofen and water &he fell asleep on his side & he woke at 6 I BF put him back in his cot. Could the teeth be aching more at sleeptime? Help

This type of sleep has been going on for 2 months on and off the the whole time. The eye teeth look like there coming but don't seen to come. Some one told my they move up & down just like wisdom teeth. does anyone have any ideas my bub is healthy and is a great baby. Id like to know if anyone else has gone through something similer as I would feel much better in knowing there is light at the end of the tunnel.

YES.. it's probably teething.. The pain comes and goes, it's not a constant so sometimes it won't bother him and sometimes it will draw tears.. My son is also 8 months with 6 teeth.. He only fussed with first set and the rest don't seem too bad. What helped me greatly with the bottom 2 was Hylands teething tablets.. They work from inside out, no topical relief.. I followed the instructions and gave them accordingly, i though they weren't working, but he slept so much better i freaked out at 12 am when i didn't get a wake up call.. ( just started sleeping though the night a week ago ) They relieve the symptoms of teething, which is fussiness and restlessnes.

We also have a toddler feeding with mesh that we put ice cubes in and let him go to town! It really brings the swelling down so the tooth can finally come through.

It is very normal for a baby this age to eat during the night, and it's not a bad habit. Some babies are sleeping 10-12 hours. Some are still eating every 3-4 hours. Both are normal. (And breastfed babies especially tend to nurse at night for longer stretches. My daughter didn't begin STTN until 7 months. Calculated as 10-11 p.m. to 6 a.m.) Not sure how you are calculating 'the middle of the night.' If he's eating '3 times in the middle of the night, that would mean he's eating every 1-2 hours, NOT every 3-4 hours. (If baby goes down at ... say ...11 p.m., wakes at 3, and then wakes at 6, that's ONE night feed, since 11 p.m. is evening, and 6 a.m. is morning.)

It is perfectly normal for your son to wake up at during this time. His teeth could be making his gums sore and they very well could be bothering him. Before he goes to sleep, tyr to give him a proper dosage of Tylenol. Although the recent shelf scares have everyone shook on giving their children medicine, you MUSt follow the directions and it is usually given by weight. (no more than .5mL). Also, Humphrey's #8 or those homeopathic reemdies that are sold over the counter could help. They contain chamomile and lavender which are calming agents. Best Wishes!

Yes, teething can certainly cause more frequent night waking. I could always tell when my daughter was teething because she'd wake about every hour to nurse...

gosh My daughter is doing the same thing I wish I could get some sleep. I dont know if you give your baby tyelnol but I give it to my daughter a little bit before she lays down for bed and it usually will give me an extra hour or two of sleep. I asked the doc and she said it was totally fine!
