I thought about it a lot, and I even tried to want some things, but there's really nothing I want. Not even the things I need, I can go out and pay for those myself. Am I alone on this?

I'm not snotty and I'm not rich. I just hate taking things from other people. I wouldn't want to hurt somebody by not accepting their gift, I wouldn't do that. And I just meant I like to work for the things that I need. I feel lazy asking for things and I get guilty about whether or not I deserve it.

No,
I agree with you.
I have what I need and the rest I'll find a way to get, or do without.
I am grateful for the gifts I get but don't usually give out too many.
I tried to do that one year and it put me in debt for way too long.
I'm no scrooge, just poor.

First of all Scrooge and Grinch are rich and snobby ! I cant believe you people how greedy you are ! I mean hear is an honest hard working person asking a simple question and you people just think about you ! Personally I want an mp3 but if its not possible then Ill accept whatever Ill get. Christmas isnt about presents but about the spirit of Christmas.

No, you are not the only person who does not want anything/gifts for Christmas, remember the old saying it is better to give than to receive. There really aren't a lot of people like that in the material world we live in. Much of humanity think more about what there gonna get and how much they're gonna get. It totally opposes the TRUE meaning of CHRISTmas...... Not to mention many, not all people become like animals when it comes to holiday shopping..........You are not the only one!!! Remeber, that in not lusting after material things of this world is far better than craving new & different things each day.

No you are not alone. Most people can't think of things to put on their list because we live in a world were we go out and buy what we want when we want it. I remember waiting all year to put something simple like a Barbie on my Christmas list. My husband and I lost our jobs and this is our first Christmas without the awesome income we HAD so we aren't getting each other anything.

Probably not considering there are millions of people that don't celebrate Christmas...but aside from that :) Nah, not being completely tied up it the gift giving aspect of Christmas is not a bad thing and I am sure you are not alone. I am finding I sorta feel the same way, actually, except for the fact that I want a renewal to my subscription to Harper's Magazine......

No, you aren't. I have too much "stuff" already and don't need any more material things to make me happier...they just take up space. This year I told people I didn't want them to buy me anything larger than a #10 envelope, and if they did I would just give it to Goodwill. I mean it. I don't need any more stuff. Now...good food, time with my friends and family, and opportunities to travel, I can never get enough of. But I don't want any more things!

Since around a billion people celebrate Christmas, the probability that you're the only one who doesn't want anything is incredibly low. Kudos to you though. Maybe you should ask for money and donate it to a charity.

My husband says he doesn't want any gifts. Sometimes I think he's saying this so he won't have to go shopping for a gift for me. Sigh.
I want him to give me a gift, not because I need anything or can't buy it for myself. I want the gift, because it would mean to me that he wanted to please me, that he cared enough to go out in the crowded stores to find something that matched my personality and interests.
When I get gifts from co-workers or family and they are items that don't mean anything to me, then I wish I wouldn't get any gifts. The sad feeling I get from getting "token" gifts is worse than not getting any gifts.

Otherwise, I don't want any gifts for Christmas except things for my two sons!!!! I already asked Santa about Pixar Monopoly and he said no........

Yeh I would think that youre alone on this one. Your comment, "I can go out and pay for those myself" may make people think that you are too snotty and not want to buy you anything anyway.
