We are a family of 4 and only have 1 bathroom. I would like to add another. If we do the work ourselves and don't use the most expensive materials (cheap but nice) on average what would that cost? I want it big enough for a sink, toilet, and shower.

typic. in remodeling your best to just go with a general quick way to figure it out. its ushally about $80 a sq foot to remodel. bathrooms r more expensive because of toles and fixtures. if your room is 8x10 you have 80 sq. feet. 80sq. ft. X $80 is $6400 for the remodel. then add about 25% for a bathroom so like $8000 for that size room

The tub and the plumbers will set you back even if you go for cheap linoleum on the floor instead of tile. The sink and faucet don't cost hardly anything. The lighting and fan will run just 150$ or so.

I just moved into an old house and the bathrooms had to be re-done. I wasn't buildings walls, merely replacing worn out and ugly stuff and I spent just under three thousand per bathroom with pretty tiles.

YIKES... I'd love to make what some suggest.

You should figure on $100 per sq. ft. new, and then fixtures.
