My english teacher told us to write a descriptive paragraph about a situation that would be "unpopular with others". She said she meant just that it is something that would offend someone else. I have no idea what my topic can/should/will be and I don't really know where to begin. Help please?

I'm DOING my homework. I'm an A student. I just don't understand what this really means. Once I get a more thorough explanation (which can hopefully include EXAMPLES) I will know what to do. The TOPIC is not the lesson. The description is the lesson, and that's not what I'm asking for help with.

Make believe you're in the lunch room, with all of the classes around, you see all of your "popular" friends sitting at the regular table but you decide to go sit with the "rejects," you'd be offended by the attitude your "friends" give you, Use that and write a descriptive paragraph about how it would make you feel.

I had an assignment like this once and here are sometopics that really got the class interested:
poverty
getting bad grades
homosexuality
black vs white
before we talked our teacher informed the class that she assigned this just to see peoples veiws and that no one should get upset over it because it wasnt to offend anyone it was just to see what we thought of these situations that do offend people...good luck!

Idea...being that "popular" people in high school often tease and ridicule those who have less than themselves, often to the point of bullying, why not write a paragraph about walking away from your "friends" when such a behavior happens and actually taking up for and befriending the less privileged student?

Can you think of something that has happened in school this year or another year or maybe something that has happened in your neighborhood where somebody or group did something that ticked people off? Somebody in our neighborhood put up one of those six feet high stockade fences . Everybody around said they were offended. They felt like those people didn't like them or felt superior to them. People started to talk about them behind their backs and they stopped inviting them to neighbor parties. Do you know about something like this? The description is what I did. I didn't put much detail in like describing the neighborhood and its social life to make the impact of people's actions more understandable.

I was thinking you can do your homework. Should you do your homework? Will it be another summer in summer school. You should know. You can do it. I hope it will be another good school year for you.
Does that say it all?

You could defend the use of big cars. Less death in accidents, etc.
Some will like it, others will bit** and holler.
