It is usually higher with burglaries and Christmas Day is also the day that has the most suicides.Which I have always felt to be very sad but sort of understandable in a way.

Unfortunately, property crimes and drug offenses (including and especially DWI) increase significantly during the holidays. Not sure if its holiday spending pressure, depression over the passing of another year or something as simple as fewer hours of sunlight.

It goes up, especially theft, purse snatching and pick pocketing. Car break-ins rise since we often put items in our car and home break-ins increase because we usually have extra items in our house as gifts. Ask any police department.
