Ya other games are better, COD4 is a good example, but CS is a legend. I mean even COD4 has taken the game type from it, it shows how all other games have taken so much from it, also its no too demanding on your PC, so people without $10k PCs can play it. And I mean its Counter Strike....come on....!

Because all the new FPS clones are just prettier versions of ye olde Counterstrike. They are always prettier, but they don't always play and control as well as older games.
New games often add in some new game play mechanics, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's just lame. Counterstrike has a mix that works, it's easy to learn, hard to master, has low machine requirements so lots of people can play, I am not a bit surprised at its long life.
Newer doesn't mean better.

Because.. Down here in silly old South Africa where we still have 56k dial-up modems, and where it was determined that it would be cheaper to fly to Hong-Kong spend a weekend there and download 4Gig worth of stuff.. then it is to download the said 4Gig from within south africa.. so needless to say. CSS kinda devours bandwidth.. and ohh.. we pay per meg.. and gaming servers are shaped to be slower.. and the cables might be stolen next week..

Counter Strike is a very addicting game. I play CSS, and I think it's an excellent game, still.

Old or new gotta love what you do! Maybe because they have become so advanced in their knowledge of the game, they enjoy the challenge of playing with other equally knowledgeable gamers.
