for some reason the water pipes or something starts making this noise like it's shaking and it hums too. I have to immediately turn off the water. Why is this? People tell me it has something to do w/ hot water heater. Our hot water heater is about to explode too, why is that? What can I do? What's going on w/ shaking pipes and almost exploding water heaters?

The pipes are resonating. You can leave the water running. Usually, if you turn the water up or down just a bit, the resonating will stop, or at least change pitch.

How in hell do you know your "hot water heater is about to explode"??? Is there a pressure guage on the front that has an "Will Explode Soon!" range on it?

As long as nobody has monkeyed around with the overflow/overpressure valve, your hot water heater will not explode from you taking a bath.

So RELAX and enjoy your bath!

As the other responder suggested, it's most likely the pipes expanding and sliding past their supports. If there's a humming sound, I'm going to guess that some length of the pipe is simply resonating during some of the expansion movements, although sometimes faucets make a humming sound if their packing is loose - however, that should respond to opening or closing the faucet slightly.

The only thing wrong is there is air in the pipes. run the water from all sourses for a little while. If that doesn't solve the problem the look for a relief valve and open that till the air stops coming out.

Why do you feel your hot water heater is about to explode? If there is a problem with your hot water tank have it replaced first. The other problem may be corrected.

the pipes are turning hot from cold which is expansionary. So the pipes will make those noises as they expand. It's natural and nothing to worry about.
