I noticed a whole cookie sitting on top of the kitchen trash last night. A whole cookie! Throwing away a whole cookie is a sin in some parts of the country! I pick up the cookie and inspect it. Looks fine to me, no spooge marks or gunky stuff stuck to it (yes those are valid words). So I take a bite…right about that time my wife yells at me, “don’t feed that cookie in the trash to the dogs it fell in the dirty dish water while I was doing dishes.”

No, but the heifers at my work ate my food I threw away-too bad they didn't know it was sitting on the table for over a week.

The dog would of been just fine, why waste a cookie a dog could eat. Dogs only, I'd never eat anything outta the trash, no matter how hungry or greedy I got.

Once when trying to quit smoking I dug in the trash for a butt. If that wasn't bad enough I picked up a cig butt off the ground behind an abandoned building. Figured it had been there long enuf to kill the germs.
That's the day I started to understand addiction.

I can't remember any particular isolated incident of me eating from the trash--that's not to say I DIDNT do it. I probably have. I've not always been the germaphobe that I am now.
