i believe in god, but no, this not prove that god exists. in fact, there is absolutely nothing you can use, besides faith, to state god's existance. God wants us to believe in him without seeing him or acquireing any proof of him. God wants us to believe soley by faith, therefore, i would argue that god made sure there is nothing we can acquire that would prove his existance.

It is not a coincidence that snow flakes form the way they do. It is because of the molecular structure of H2O. H2O molecules are not linear, the H atoms are on either side of the O atom but not directly opposite. THe angle is such that when liquid water freezes, 6 H2O molecules get together in a ring. Then more H2O molecules get added on. That is why snow flakes have 6 sided symetry. I believe they have now found snow flakes that are essentially identical (at least they are to the naked eye). It is easy to understand why there are so many different shapes of snow flakes because, when you think about the number of H2O molecules that make up a snow flake, there is a huge number. If a snow flake weighs 0.018 grams (as a guess), with a molecular weight of 18, that means there are 6.023 X10^19 molecules of H2O in one snow flake. There are a lot of different ways that many molecules can arrange themselves around the basic ring. There is no scientific proof that god exists or that god does not exist. Belief in god is a matter of faith and science is not a matter of faith.
I hope this helps you understand a little more about science and I hope this does not jeopardize your faith.

The difference between individual snowflakes can be explained as simply as pointing out the fact that their individual shapes are the result of the atmospheric conditions which they encounter as they form. As they fall and grow, they take a unique course through the atmosphere and develop their shapes differently. Similar to people, the unique combination and sequence of events in their lives creates no two people who are identical. On the microscopic scale of water molecules, those precise microscopic atmospheric conditions are never identical, hence neither are the snowflakes. The hexagonal shape that they develop is beyond my ability to explain as quickly, but I know that it is related to the shape of the water molecules and what shapes they are able to form. Although I don't understand it, there is no reason to believe that the natural properties of water cannot be explained scientifically or without invoking God or some kind of deliberate intelligent design.

Sorry, i'm totally confused as to how you could possibly think this proves God's existence. Why is it so hard to believe that science and nature are down to snowflakes. And how no snowflake is never the same - wouldn't it be weirder if they were all exactly the same? As far as i can think only man made things are the same and even then they are not always the same. Everything on this earth is different, be it its texture, shape or whatever.

I think crystal formation and air resistance are really cool.
No proof of God or gods here. Remember this maxim: God created gravity so He wouldn't have to hold things together manually.
You can assume He also created the properties of water, crystal formation, air resistance, so He doesn't have to waste time making individual snowflakes.
