How old would you have to be to audition for tracy,penny,or amber from hairspray?

just wondering because these are 3 of my dream roles!!

they are high school girls so probably 16, 17 or 18. if u look young, maaayyybbbeee 19. hairspray is the best! i bought it the day it came out! i love tracy's songs the best, espeically Baltimore!

depends on the production company, if a high school does it, they are younger than if a college or community theatre does it. how old are the characters?
