We're at it again, but both sides are too stubborn to come to a peaceful resolution....Should the US just give up on the middle east?

I have to comment what TOYOU said. She is wrong with saying that Israel is too stubborn on giving anything. She must not really know what goes on in Israel. Israel has given land away for peace, but it didn't work so now the Palestinians or radical Islamists are using the land for a 'terrorist training camp'. You are wrong for giving false accusations.

Now to you that asked this question. When you have a Palestinian leader like Abbas who also belongs to a 'terrorist group' Fatah, and who wants peace for the Palestinian people, and who wants the Palestinians to have their own state and you have the radical Islamists who don't want peace with the Jewish people, this will not work out. You have two groups who disagree. Then you have an Israeli leader by the name of Olmert who wants to also give them their own state, who also wants to divide the land, who also wants to expell more Jewish communities so he can give the land to the Palestinians once again, more land for peace.....when there will never be peace until all terrorists are dealt with. Then you have the Jews who believe that the Land of Israel should never be divided or given away for peace because the land belongs to them, Biblically speaking, and they would love to have Olmert out of office because he is betraying his own people by doing what he is doing and by negotiating with terrorists!

It is not about stubborness, it is about land and terrorism.

The US will never give up on the Middle East because Israel is our Ally.

There has to be a lot of give and take in every peace talk. Unfortunately the Israelis do not know the meaning of "give" Its all " take" with them, hence all the illegal settlements in Palestinian lands. The only way to go forward is for America to put pressure on Israel and threaten them with no more financial or military support.

Israel is very stubborn about taking everything and the nations are stubborn about not letting them. But the nations always give in anyway. The Arab people get mad because they don't get anything so giving land to Israel doesn't solve anything. The US doesn't give up on this because it needs oil bad.

Time for Americans to conserve as much as possible, even though the government doesn't really, honestly want them to.

Diplomacy only works when both parties want a solution bad enough to compromise their position or one of them or an outside country is strong enough and willing to force them to agree. Neither is true currently.
