If you like action RPGs, check out Dark Cloud 2. It is really fun.
2 great action games are God of War & God of War 2.
A great action/adventure game is Shadow of the Colossus.
If you like turn-based RPGs, check out Dragon Quest 8.

Dragon Quest 8 is a fun RPG that uses the old school formula and still works. Rachet and Clank is a fun game, as well as Kingdom Hearts, and maybe Xenosaga (haven't played it.)

If you are searching for any type of used or new PS1 or PS2 games search at Game stop first they have many different types of games your looking for. Search Ebay, Amazon, or Creg's List. Search Google as well for places around in your area that might have the game your looking. People in areas around you might sell the games your looking for, for affordable prices.

You can try this two good classics, Chrono Cross/Trigger and Suikoden 1-5. Each game boasts a bunch of non linear quests and a whole lot of playable characters.

-Tales of Symphonia (I'm not sure if they still sell this but it is a great RPG)
- Kingdom Hearts 1&2 (my personal favorites)
- God of War 1&2 (action/adventure)
If you want to, read more about these games here:http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/talesofphantasia/index.html?tag=result;title;1
