I have 3 kids and seems like one of them has had issues here lately that has required my immediate attention and I have missed a few days of work. Do you ever feel worried that you will be written up or fired for putting your kids first?

Kids comes first and job second. The kids must have your full attention at all times for them to grow up and become a good loving, responsible, productive adults. Jobs can be be had anytime. Time spent with kids growing will never be replaced once they are adults.

In this world of multi-tasking, we are all put to the test and forced to make critical decisions. "Family First" is a wonderful concept if you can afford it. So is health insurance. We live in a world of "Haves" and "Have-Nots". If you lose your job, no body eats, the car gets re-poed, the electric and water and cable and phone get shut off, you lose your home and guess what? So where are we going from here? You can't live in your car, because it's been re-poed. You can't get unemployment because you don't qualify. You can't get Public Assistance because you lost your job because you cared about your kids, which is not a good excuse. So what do you do? Tell them you are an illegal alien. You'll get all the help and assistance you need, and never had to pay one penny in tax dollars, and won"t have to when you get an under-the-table job! Have more babies and the government will provide you with a place to live, expedited food stamps, free medical care, and sometimes even a free college education, provided you can speak English (not really a requirement in some states.) Do I ever feel worried? NO! I'm ^(%$# scared!!!

I know exactly how your feeling. I've recently gone back to work fulltime after being at home with my daughter for the last 5 and a half years. most of the time shes ok with it but occasionally she tells me she wishes I was the one picking her up from school (at the moment her grandparents do it), which makes me feel horrible. But I try to explain to her that the reason why I am working is to give her a better life and I hope that one day she gets it. its just me and her as her dad left when she was little and doesnt contribute in anyway.
