My platform:
1) There will be a gradual troop withdrawal from Iraq beginning end of 2008, easing the military presense out of the region.
2) Social security reform, keep the system alive.
3) Universal healthcare plan, as everyone should ideally be entitled for the same coverage.
4) Tax cuts for the middle class, tax increases to the wealthy (top 3% probably)
5) Withdraw from the U.N. and form a more decisive alliance where power is delegated based on the country's standing in the world both financially as well as diplomatically.
6) Tighten border security, illegal immigrants will be forced to comply with strict regulations or be "guest workers" or get out of the country
7) End lobbyists' grip on Washington, D.C. PERIOD.
8) Keep the status quo with gay marriage and leave it up to the states. And make sure ROE V. WADE is NOT overturned.
9) Make smoking illegal in ALL public places.
10) Clean up the environment and focus on alternate energy, without oil companies monopolizing..

Yeah...for those of you saying that I'm too vague...keep in mind that I have a very small # of characters set as a limit, so I can't expand upon any of my ideas. I would if I could though!

I generally like most of your ideas, but you are very vague as to how you will realistically implement them. You also misspelled presence.
I like number 3 but how will u fund it? more taxation? military spending cuts? cut into education?
I really like 5, its a fresh idea that I haven't heard yet.
for 6, what do you mean by "tighten"? Does that simply mean enforcing the rules more or building a massive wall guarded by ardent minutemen? If its a wall, then I dislike it. Walls are symbols of oppression. When I think of walls historically, I think of the Berlin Wall that communist russia erected, the wall between North and South Korea, the wall between Israel and Palestine. Not good at all.
I like 9, but, realistically, if you were running for president, you wouldn't have that as part of your platform. It would only hurt you, not help.

Number 5 put me off.
The negativity towards the UN in this country is really quite astounding. Perceptions of an ineffective security council ( a very small part of the UN and mainly ineffective because of US recalcitrism) outweigh in many people's minds the obvious good it does every day. Our current international postal system is the result of the UN. There is no small pox in the world today because of the UN. Other disease outbreaks are monitored and controlled by international cooperation coordinated by the UN. Internet protocols, intellectual property laws, maritime laws and human rights are all concepts that simply could not work without the international cooperation facilitated by the UN. 15 million refugees around the world are sheltered and fed by the UN. 1 billion people have access to clean drinking water solely because of the UN and another half a billion children get to attend school.
Learn something about an organization before you bag it like this.

Vote for you but cannot be fitted against Hillary Clinton who has inherited the network of fundraisers that catalpulted Bill Clinton to the Presidency.
VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know who will likely win.

NO. The only issue that I definitely agree with you is # 6. Your views on the other nine points I either completely disagree or need more info to determine your exact position.

It sounds like third world countries won't have any say in your decisive alliance. Otherwise your platform isn't that bad.

I'm afraid not. Your Platform is TOO naive & dictatorial. You want too many changes TOO quickly- & THAT usually ends up in NOTHING getting done... "Run" again- in 2012, & "tweak" your ideas alittle...-Maybe I'll vote for you Then...:)
