Best was when I was about 11 or 12. My parents had been divorced since I was 5 and had an uneasy relationship, but that year they started seeing each other again, so we spent Christmas as a complete family that year. Plus my dad got me a red LED wristwatch, which was a big deal back then.
Unfortunately, they never remarried and eventually stopped seeing each other, but they were still much better friends after that.
Worst - can't really remember a worst one. All were at least fine. Guess I'm just lucky.

My worst Christmas was in 1999. I was in college, but living at home, and I was getting through a really rough spot emotionally. I'd been struggling with an eating disorder and undiagnosed bipolar disorder, and it was all so messy I don't remember very much in the way of specifics. Except Christmas morning, when breakfast became a very charged and dramatic affair, with guild trips and anger and all around resentment. As the day went on, everyone was worse for the wear. I don't think anyone in my family had a good holiday that year. (I still feel somewhat responsible, too.)
My best, though, was probably last year. My mother-in-law was alive, after a very difficult couple of weeks in the hospital, and had even been transferred to an assisted living facility, which may not be as good as being home, but it meant she was on the path to recovery. She nearly died from a pulmonary embolism a week earlier, so her release from the hospital made it Christmas. (Last Christmas wasn't free from tragedy, but all in all, if it came down to it, I would go through it all again because my mother-in-law is still with us, when she very nearly wasn't.)

Last year was the worst. I had knee surgery on 12/22 and I was on crutches and pain meds.
The best was 1980 when my parents took my brother, sister and I on a 10 day vacation to St. Thomas and Puerto Rico instead of buying gifts. My mom got a good deal on the trip through work.
That was the first time in my life I was ever in a warm climate on Christmas Day.

Our worst Christmas was actually our best! It happened to be during the recession. My husband had retired from the air force and we had just gotten back from over seas in October of that year. We really didn't realized how hard it was to find jobs, and even I had a hard time as they weren't even hiring substitute teachers! My husband and I and our 2 teenagers had moved in my father in laws very small cramped house. All of our furniture was in storage. Depression had hit us all during the recession so I had to be creative and inventive if we were to have much of a Christmas at all!!! We went out into the woods and cut down a little Charlie Brown Christmas tree and I decorated it in ribbon and even then we didn't have any lights. We couldn't really afford the real gifts we wanted so we got mocked gifts in a skit I came up with. My father in law played Santa with the hat and beard I made him. He asked everybody what they wanted for Christmas. My husband said a job! So we put an elf hat on him and gave him the job of handing out the gifts. My son had wanted an electric razor, so we found one of daddy's axes out in the garage and an old extension cord and attached to it as a spoof. My daughter was tired of getting up and down and changing the t.v.channel and she wanted a remote, so she got a hand carved walking stick so she could reach the t.v.! I got some fruegal patches of fabric cut out of a pair of old boxers since I quilt! We all laughed so hard that year. It was the fact that we we could still make light of a bad situation. We had a roof over our heads and food to eat and laughter was in the air and being together was all that mattered.
Oh and we did get jobs in January, so our Christmas prayers were answered:)

worst was when i discovered that santa does not exist. Got up very early, b4 anyone else and went to check for presents. There was nothing. So I wnet back to bed very disappointed. I soon heard my mom get up and move about. When I got up again, there were presents under the tree. So I made the connection - My mother was Santa!!!
ha ha that was ages ago.
Im yet to have a best christmas.

my worst was last year. I went to my dads house for my first birthday i can remember and i was so sad when I saw all like three? of the presents were from "santa" and none were from my dad. my very first christmas with him. I wanted to cry, i liked the presents n stuff and I knew it was from him but i just wanted it to be more special than that. Or my tenth birthday he sent me a box of barbie stuff. and I just kind of looked at it, so confused as to why my dad still thout i was 7. ps my b-day is christmas eve
