Your friend seems to find multiple personalities humorous. The real disease is frightening and disabling. Your friend may just be joking, or maybe she doens't want to own up to her own behavior. I know that all of us will say things like "oops that was my evil twin or such". Naming or not naming your inner voice isn't important. What is important is that you are so stressed that you are becoming more depressed. Maybe your long distance relationship, or maybe other things. So the IMPORTANT thing is to seek help for you depression. A therapist can help you identify why you feel the need to overanalyze things. But understanding that you can begin to let go of the analyzing and irritation. You can ask yourself, who in your past always criticized and overanalyzed you? The inner voice may be repeating that message and then you can say "hey that stuff was never my own thoughts, they belong to my ________ who was cruel to me". Pay attention to the depression. Not the rules about naming.
