Okay, I don't get it...

You say you feel guilty.
You say your parents don't have the money right now.
But yet you still want a cellphone OR a laptop!?

What the freak??

Stop being selfish AND don't ask for anything! Go do some babysitting, sell some of your crap you don't need, old clothes, c.d.'s, books, whatever, and either give the money to your parents OR donate it, OR get your own present with whatever money you earn.

You don't need a cellphone or a laptop. Those are luxuries for a girl your age. Stop being materialistic and start being realistic! You need to wake up and remember what the REAL meaning of Christmas is!!

Well i would say save up money about 50$ and show your dad he will be proud that you want it bad enough that you are willing to pay HALF even tho you dont have much money you can affored a sidkick if you pay half. A way to rais money would be to have a funrasier. A dell laptop are A LOT even if you only pay 25$ a month it adds up to like 2,560$ ALOT.

If you have never had a cell phone the reason maybe you dad thinks your too younge. but if all he said is money issuse go ask for it and pay half.

Cells cost alot less than laptops but........ well they stillare pricey i would try to ask for something a little cheaper but remeber what i said.

Take to concideration

i think you should stick to things you really need if your family is strapped for money right now.
you will need a new laptop when you go to college so, is it really necessary to have it now? it would be obsolete by the time you go to college. 25 per month is a lot if you consider how many months you have to continue making payments. it's probably not worth it.
i am really not in favor of kids having cell phones unless there is a true need until they are of driving age.
Is there something that you would really would like that doesn't cost so much?
Be reasonable. your parents will appreciate that.
And remember the most important part of Christmas is not what you're gonna get!

I actually belong to Dell myself and I bought a computer and the payment plan works great and its very affordable for anyone. They offer an extended warranty and it's cheaper than spending $1000.00 all at once . Just make sure you call Dell and tell them what you want to do on the computer such as games etc. and they can build you one personally just for your needs. I love my Dell it's great. Hope you get what you want for Christmas. And keep your head up with your parents Divorce there going through a tough time and you will be too. It's not pleasant but remember your not to blame people just sometimes grow apart.

You don't need a cell phone,
you don't need a laptop if you're in a money crisis.
Don't ask for anything, if you are in a money crisis.
I have a cell phone, and never use it, unless if i'm calling my parents.
Yes the laptop has $25 a month, but the interest on that really adds up.

The best gift you could ask for is for your parents to stay together.

i would go with the cell phone. sidekicks get aim and internet. texting, pictures, calling. since your on y!a im guessing you already have a perfectly working computer. why ask for another? but also keep in mind that if you've never had a cell phone before you'll probably have to sign up for a service plan. which you also have to pay money for. but like i said sidekick is a better deal. hope this helps.

I had a dell laptop, did the monthly fees. The late fees are costly though. If you do get one, just try not to make the payments late.

Personally, i think you shouold go for a laptop, it is definitely cool and practical also, go shopping on Compaq its the best online shopping for laptops bc u can buy them over the internet custom made. their great mine im using right now is in excellent condition, came with a two year warranty, a printer, etc. and it cost 1500. but i got the THE BEST. or even try overstock.com, its a great place for that kind of stuff. you wont regret going to overstock tho, they have all kinds of laptops and phones overstocked lol and cheap as heck hope i could help you email me if you need any help dont stree out your parents too much hah my parents divorced when i was 12, too. it was a pain in the *** but life goes on.

the last thing you want to do is finance a laptop unless you need it because you will be hit with high APR. ask for a last family night out so everyone enjoys themselves and their is a chance they might even get back together. Christmas is not about getting or giving gifts so dont get too greedy.
