Al Gore is a leading candidate because of his environmental efforts.

I know I'd get thumbed the hell down for saying this but I think Britney Spears should be considered as an addition to this list, although I do not think she'd beat Al to the top spot.
I mean, how many times have we seen Britney humiliate herself this year? She may not have had such an impact globally, but she pretty damn has more publicity on her than Jacko at the peak of his looney kiddie-sodomizing days.

Remember... Time magazine rank their candidate every year regardless of whether Santa has them on his naughty or nice list. So all that negative press Britney's been getting won't matter.

Waddaya think?

I disagree with the options presented.

Maybe YAP should lobby for our friends Allan Y and Aguadulce as Persons of the Year, as the top 2 answerers on YAP.

I'm rooting for Barry "Home Run King" Bonds as Time Magazine's Man of the Year for 2007.
But I think Al "Mr. GlobalWarming" Gore will end up receiving the honors.

I have the honor to nominate K.C. Concepcion, the daughter of Sharon Cuneta, and Senator Pangilinan, to be person of the year for Time Magazine, to represent the Filipino youth of today. She has brought Paris closer to the hearts of the Philippines. As well as engaged in several charitable commercials.

Also because she is not tainted by drugs, as is the son of J.V. De Venecia. Nor is she tainted by family feuds, as is the daughter of President GMA.

And since the two above are always quarelling, KC is obvious choice since she is aboveboard.

Al Gore for Poseur of the Year.

Hard to pick a truly influential person worldwide. The US president is always influential on the world stage, but Time would never give Bush that recognition. Other options are Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and to a lesser extent, Hugo Chavez, for their negative influences.

If you think persons on Santa's naughty list can be considered then the BIG DADDY of all naughty boys and girls should be TIME magazine's person of the year - OJ SIMPSON.

I voted for Al Gore in 2000 and I would do it again.

He is Man of the Year.
