Do you think that when greeks stopped worshipping gods and goddesses (other countries as well) due to scientific evidence that today's god and jesus could be explained with science? Such as greeks myth on how echo was named echo things like that. When a god was angry he would make volcanoes erupt but it was pressure from the earth's core. But do you think that people could stop worshipping gods in general? Or do you think that people created gods so that they don't feel lonely. I believe that the big bang theory is baloney how can you get mass universes out of one atom spliting. I think there is something out there bigger than us not necessarly aliens but we didn't just pop outta nowhere and with all the religions in the world how do you know which one is the right one leading you to heaven and not hell.

No, the Greeks and other pre-Christian cultures did not stop believing in their gods because science proved the existence of the Biblical Jesus or the Christian idea of God. It did not; in fact science is establishing the Gospels, like most narrative religious scriptures, are legends and not reflective of historical facts. The ideas that later became Christianity may have begun as far back as the third century BCE and were an expression of a multidimensional mystical and philosophical trend called Gnosticism. Neoplatonism and Hermeticism were forms of Gnosticism that also were emerging as philosophical and religious trends at the same time as Christianity (and there were specific forms of Christian, Judaic, Arabic/ Islamic and other pagan forms of Gnosticism in the ancient world). Overtime, Christianity became established as the most popular idea and then a particular form of Christianity was standardized in the 4th century CE. The belief spread, in part by imperialism, throughout the western hemisphere. Christianity contains vestiges of its rivaling philosophies (eg, Neoplatonism, Hermeticism) and certain elements of Judaic mysticism and pre-Christian culture and mythology. It's an example of a kind of cultural evolution and will change (and is changing) over time.

see, actually, the greeks kept on worshipping gods, and if any greeks still existed, they would still be doing that. despite the science explanations, its hard to give up something, simply becuase you don't wanna take the chance of offending god. after all, god could have made the pressure in earths core, or the genes in a human. eg, recently, therez been this demon baby on youtube, people said god is coming. but it was just a gene mutation. now, you might stop beliving in god becuz this can be explained. but the thing that gets people is...how do you know god didn't want that gene to be copied wrong in the poor baby?

The ancient cultures, Greek, Egyptian, Celtic, etc. stopped worshiping their gods and goddesses because Christianity created a smear campaign to wipe them out. It was and still is the goal of Christianity to convert every non-Christian in the world.

I personally believe that the old gods are just as valid today as they were thousands of years ago. Just because one religion came along and tells you they are all wrong is not enough to convince me that our ancestors were wrong.

As for the creation of the universe I believe that the universe itself is god/dess. It was created in some fantastic way, that I am sure science will someday explain, and it continues to live and influence our lives. It does not matter to me how many different gods that people create they will always be apart of the vast universe that we live in.

How do you know there is a heaven and hell? And sorry to burst your bubble, sweetie, but all religions are based on myth. Yes, I said ALL. And, stop me from laughing but.....when did "science" prove the existance of god and jesus? As for a "right" religion......shouldn't that be up to the individual?

The Greeks stopped worshiping many gods when they were brought the good news of Jesus the Christ.

Many believe we have a God gene. A genetic predisposition to want to worship a god/God. The question is does one worship the correct God or not.
