i don't have a clue as to who sean taylor was but when i saw the headline earlier today my first reaction was that he was up to no good.
and the reason no one expresses on a daily basis their sadness and concern for the Soldiers or the families left behind of Soldiers killed in Afghanistan, Iraq or anywhere else that the U.S. Military serves, is because the country on a whole has been desensitized.
and that is what is truly sad.

I am saddened by the tragedy. I have been a life long Cowboys fan and we're basically trained to hate the Washington Redskins. I will say from the bottom of my Cowboys blue heart that I have nothing but the deepest regards to the Taylor family and the entire Washington Redskins association. I wish the best of luck to the Redskins and hope they can overcome this tragedy and make a push for the playoffs.

Well, this might get some people after the NFL to regulate their behavior off the field more closely...maybe raise the suspension or fines when a player gets into a confrontation or something, new rules...who knows?...As for the Redskins, I've been watching their games lately and the announcers have said a lot..."Well, Sean Taylor isn't here...when he comes back they'll be fine"...now that's he's gone, the Redskins have to toughen up and everybody's gotta step up a little.

Sean Taylor, Joe Smoe, Jon Doe
it is terrible when any man is taken away from a family, a young kid, in the way he was
football aside, he was 24 years old, with a very young daughter, and this happens every day, and to think the person that did this is amongst us, just like many others that get away with such a horrible crime

What do you want to hear? It is sad. It is a shame. This had nothing to do with the NFL or the Redskins or football it is just the dangerous and messed up society that we live in. Young men with money attract attention and jealousy. There are too many "thugs" running around looking for easy money and a one -way ticket to prison.

this is just sad..when i went to bed the other night i thought he was gonna be okay...then when i woke up i hear he passed away during the night??? i was really rattled...im not even a skins fan..and anyone who says he was not pro bowl caliber must not be paying much attention to the nfl..the guy is tied for second in the nfl this year in interceptions and he was known for being very physical and really lighting people up when he him them, just ask the bills punter brian mooreman about that..i read somewhere that he had a machette in his room for protection when he was shot, this just reminds me of the phrase dont bring a knife to a gun fight...i think anybody who can legally do it, should sleep with a gun that is within reach every night...because crazy things like this happen to people every single day...even nfl players, you never know when it could be you...

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Taylor family, friends, players and all who were touched by Sean. He was just starting out in life, maturing as a father and a person and now he has gone to the other side. A sad day...

It's a total shame. But the one I feel the most sad for is his child - she's the one who lost the most.
It may not have any bearing on the NFL as a whole. He wasn't killed commiting a crime, someone got into his house. He had no part in the action - except as a victim. If you ask me, that idiot Vick's actions have a bigger impact because it's going to put more scrutiny on players' actions off the field.

tragedy for the family, yes. however, as Sean Taylor's Ghost points out in his answer, shouldn't we be paying more attention, a whole hell of a lot more, to the soldiers getting injured and killed in Iraq every day? some stories should be more important than others, some conversations should be undertaken and they are, unfortunately, most definitely not...
